The pool and spa area is beautiful, as is the whole of the downstairs area. The bedrooms are dated and looked like mouldy sealant around the windows, but the bathroom looked newly renovated.
Evening meal was expensive for the quality of the ingredients used we thought too.

Nothing to fault. Excellent stay, cleanliness, ambiance, comfort, essentials supply’s all upto mark. The reception team were very attentive, friendly and pleasant. The restaurant was downstairs and has excellent food. Although the dining was full on Friday night, the team went over and beyond to accommodate us which I very much appreciated.
We were here for the hike (Scafell pike) and to see the surroundings. The location of stay was perfect. Kendal is beautiful. I loved my stay and would definitely recommend. Would love to come back …!

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture.
We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there.
Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners!
We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art.
Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area.
Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc.
I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Kendal has lots to offer visitors and is an ideal place to stay, away from the crowds in the central Lakes. Lots of walking accessible by good public transport, avoids taking the car and trying to find somewhere to park. Plenty of shops and places to eat, especially Corner 124 where you can enjoy an excellent meal.
The hotel is lovely and very close to Kendal, with lovely decor. We had an evening meal, which was a little pricey but gorgeous. The service was slow, as the wine was brought when we were half way through the meal and a sauce we asked for never materialised. There was a wedding so unfortunately we could not sit out on the balcony, which was a shame as it was a lovely evening. Breakfast was only warm but very nice, but again the service was a little slow. Our tea and toast only arrived when we were half way through our cooked meal.
The location was perfect - right around the corner from Kendal College Arts and Media campus where I was attending a workshop. The hotel also looked onto the river, which gave me a nice view from my window. The room was quiet and very large, so would do for a couple or family and I liked the provision of Lake District tea and coffee sachets. Breakfast was served in an airy room overlooking the water and there was a good selection of cooked and continental choices.
Beautiful hotel with lots of character, really comfy and cosy room decor with lots of small touches. Amazing views of the fields and mountains, perfect location for Windemere and Kendal. Lovely bar and breakfast area with balcony overlooking the views, and a serve yourself type bar. The bed was large and soft, smart TV with Netflix etc, rooms quiet and dark. Full English breakfast was quick and well cooked. Overall a really peaceful stay.
Hotel was nice! Apart from thin walls and a few spiders it was good! Maybe slightly pricey for what it is as we paid around £100 per room, I’ve stayed in other cheaper places that had more to them but I think the increased price was due to so many staycations recently! Lovely view of the lake behind the hotel whilst having breakfast. It was a 15 min drive from Kendal and 30 mins from Windermere - alright location! Overall pleasant stay!
The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Booked for dinner at the hotel (14 of us) and were given the function room for private dining, which was great as we were celebrating a birthday!
Food was excellent, swimming pool fabulous, lounge had beautiful chairs and sofas, rooms very nice and spacious. Ample car parking (around the back) very easy access to Kendal and the main routes into the lakes
The hotel is in a traditional beautiful local style house, located in a convenient place, just outside the town of Kendal, 20 minutes drive from Windermere, parking spaces are sufficient, the decoration inside is very pretty, the landscape surrounding is idyllic and picturesque, with good restaurant and bar inside, and the pricing is rather reasonable.
The owners could not have been friendlier and Richard was brilliant at giving suggestions of things to do in the area. The room was spotless and very comfortable and the breakfast really set me up for the day each morning. The B&B is within a short walk of the bus station, which is great if you don't have a car. I would definitely recommend this place!
The hotel is right in the centre of Kendal. The rooms are so comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and work really hard, especially at breakfast! The full English breakfast is tasty and not too massive! We stay in the triple rooms for me, my husband and our 10 Yr old. They're the perfect size. I would recommend this hotel to families.
The property was a perfect weekend haven in a fantastic location for Kendal and the surrounding areas. It was spotless and the facilities were outstanding. The host had really thought about the lay out and the use of the space. The host went above expectations with communications and even posted something we had left behind.
The property was set back off the road which meant the rooms were lovely and quiet. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy.
The location was perfect with quite a few local walks for you to start right in Kendal without having to drive.
Breakfast was lovely the next morning and staff couldn’t do enough for you.
Such helpful and friendly staff. Great food, reasonably priced in the pet friendly pub restaurant. Close to the main shopping area with free parking. Comfortable beds and nice big towels. Just a really nice experience and excellent value.
The house is in a great location, only a short walk from Kendal centre and really close to Romneys which does excellent food on an evening. Everything was nice and clean and the host Matt was brilliant too.
Friendliness and personal touch you just don’t get at big hotels. I loved that Pauline asked our kids what their favourite colours were and tried to give them that colour for cutlery at breakfast!
A lovely friendly welcome. A great location - only a short, scenic walk to the centre of Kendal. The property was clean, well kept and had everything we need. We would definitely stay here again.
Modern facilities, very clean and good location in Kendal/easy travel to Windermere. Dog friendly which is perfect for the area and has a small outdoor some which our dog enjoyed.
Everything staff extremely friendly and professional. Food delicios evening meal and breakfast fabulouse. Cleaniness of room and pub areas superb. Hotel location perfect.
We were in Kendal for an event at the leisure centre which is a 15 minute walk along the old canal path (go up Parr Street to find it) It’s also a short walk into town
From check in to check out, it was great. The staff were friendly and efficient. The swimming pool area was lovely. The food was excellent as was the service.
