The location was great. Very close to the Boat Bar. My favorite restaurant/bar. Also close to the market. The room was larger than I expected. My air conditioning was great. Always water in the refrigerator. I would stay here again

The size of the rooms is huge. We had for 2 people 2 toilets, 3 showers (including the one next to the pool), a huge nice double bed and huge glas windows. Of course we had a terrace with direct entrance to the 1.2m deep pool. It was awesome and we feelt very priviledged and in a real luxury home. We enjoyed our two nights, the staff was super friendly, next to the hotel is everything you need, also a fruit market. The only con was the one window downstairs wasn't built properly so when it was raining it was a bit wet on parts of the floor. Also the toilet upstairs was smelling weird when we arrived.
Nevertheless it was a great time and we enjoyed our stay.

Very close to the airport, 10 min by car, perfect for the first few days on the island or the last few prior to departure.
Next time i will stay the first 5 days here to get off the jetlag, and the last 2 day before heading out.
the ferry to koh phangan is, depending on the hotel, in walking distance.

More than a couple of nights here is enough as there is very little to do at nights. If you get a motorbike though it becomes one of the best places to stay as everywhere else is within an easy journey.
The hotel restaurants are generally better than the established burger/pizza/steak places. Not saying they're bad but there there are better available. There seem to be fewer local Thai eateries around than used to be the case however the ones that are there are pretty good. Discovered a lovely little cafe/restaurant that I thought at first was purely Vegan but caters for all tastes and the food is all healthy and stuff...not a bad thing after a night on the beverage of choice.
The other thing you should be aware of is that now cannabis has been legalised there are shops and "cafes" everywhere...even a very nice "up market" restaurant that has a full a la carte menu of cannabis infused food in addition to the standard menu items...interesting concept.
To sum up I do the bookends thing, couple of days at the start and end of the Samui trip as the airport is just around the corner...works for me

Bangrak Beach is certainly not the nicest area on Koh Samui but it's conveniently close to the airport and the Bangrak Beach Pier to take the ferry over to Koh Phangang. Therefore a good place to spend a night if your flight arrives/departs too late/early for the ferry to Koh Phangang.

Bangrak is a nice place.
Bangrak is a nice place. The beach is not the best around but you can walk on it. The Bangrak road us busy with traffic and people drive too fast on the approach to it. It’s quite dangerous road and you have to be careful when crossing. Thus also makes it not very peaceful or relaxing.

The best thing that comes in mind is that the location is close, by car, to some important sightseeing, such as Golden Buddha, the Grandmother and Grandfather Beach, the Fisherman Village (2 km, the latter), the Waterfall 2 park, as well as to some of the greatest restaurants on the island: Coco Tam (best beach setting and great food), Jungle Club (the best setting, and amazing view with high quality in food), Suppatra Dining (probably the best dining on the island) and Dr. Frogs (great view, but the food did not met our expectations). The Central Festival Shopping Mall is also close, as well as the airport of Samui, that looks like a cartoon (my favorite airport in the world now).
You can drive easily by luxurious van limo at very decent prices. We had the services of Mr. Tee recommended by the staff of our hotel, the Scent Hotel. He was decent, professional and very polite and he uses WhatsApp.
There are beaches that appeared to us very intimate, like the one from Scent Hotel, or simply gorgeous beaches like the ones between Lamai and Chaweng.
Whole place is tastefully done. It’s right at the sea and view is beautiful. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable bed. Loved the pool.
It is surely not a regular hotel. Not always manned by staff, that could be a bit of pain when you want anything. They do not have any restaurants in the property which I felt was missing. Although there are lot of restaurants at 5-7 mins bike ride.
We wanted to just sit by the beach and wanted a drink, had to go out for that.
Overall 10/10 for the location and rooms. I would stay there again.
The property is literally a 10 mins walk from the airport or 2 minute drive. It has the best street food conveniently located just outside the hotel reception and it’s so yummy and cheap! The host Sandy was so so lovely and super accommodating, she was so helpful, polite and made us feel super warm and welcome! Great place to stay if you’re landing or flying early the next day. They even had a smart tv!! Oh and the free refreshments in the fridge really added to the whole experience. 10/10 would stay again!
The best room and bathroom among three hoteles we have visited during the trip to Samui and Phangan. Super clean, nice neat design. A calm and peaceful place. The nearest good beaches for us were Mercury and Thongson, both around 12 mins by bike. There are some good restaurants and a really good big grocery store within 7 mins by walk.
The owner is friendy and responsive. He helped us a lot with tickets reservation, good bike rental, and great recommendations.
Wonderful hotel. An inter connecting family room which was very spacious, clean and modern. Located just 5 min from Fisherman’s village and it was very quiet. This part of the island doesn’t have the most clear water so not really a beach hotel as such. It had a lovely restaurant/bar and pool area on the beach with lovely views. If you’re happy to travel to beaches for swimming and evening entertainment, Prana is a lovely and peaceful hotel.
Good location in a calm environment. Nice villas and rooms with a pool and a direct access to the Bangrak beach (feeling of private beach). Many restaurants, bars as well as a 7/11 shop around (at walking distance).
Kindness and dedication of the manager (Jay) and her staff during the stay.
I think it’s better to stay here if you are not going to stay in a 4-5 stars hotel. The apartment is not far from Bangrak beach, you can easily walk there. The room has everything I needed and it’s clean. The pool, gym and tennis court is also perfect for active people.
Amazing and unique place with only around 12 (?) apartments. The rooms are so cozy and beautiful. The hotel area is nice and you can chill just next to the sea! You can watch and hear the airplanes landing but at night there's no traffic. Would definitely come again!
We upgraded to a beach front room with pool. it was amazing! We also loved that the staff was friendly absolutely helpful with everything from renting scooters to renting a jetski! We loved the hotel and will definitely be back!
Nice beachfront property with good view and swimming pool
Our stay was comfortable.
Nice ameneties like vanity kit, shower caps. And only hotel during our stay which had slippers.
Staff were very friendly
The Secret Garden is in a lovely location right on the beach with fantastic views. It is a small boutique hotel which makes it more special and gives you a feeling of a home from home with a family touch.
The sea view and the pool area.
Calm beach with almost no bigger waves.
Close to the airport and the plane fly really close to the hotel which is amazing.
Very nice and clean place! Exceptional bed, very spacious.
Best of all: so nice and friendly chief of staff.
Glad to have chosen this hotel, highly recommend!
I loved the cleanliness of the hotel, and the view was beautiful. The staff were helpful and friendly with just general advice or anything I needed help with.
Close to a quiet beach
Cozy bungalows
Comfortable beds
Relaxed area with good restaurant options
Great for a cozy getaway removed from the big hotel chains
