I was very happy with my stay.
It started with the ease of making an online booking. The photos are true to reality. My room was actually a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be.
The gentleman at reception was very friendly and helpful and check in took only minutes.
Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to use the heated pool and spa (time constraint), but it was a nice touch that it was part of the facilities.
The location is perfect. It's not smack on the main drag, so less traffic, but within walking distance of many interesting sight seeing places and restaurants.
I was actually a bit unwell one of the days and it was brilliant to be able to stay tuck up in bed and having such a big variety of satellite channels to watch.
If you're looking for bang for your buck, then this is the place!

We went to Paihia as this was close to the Marae we intended to visit on this occasion. There were limited decent food options- however the glasshouse had exception food and service, was very impressed by this. No where else was good food, but almost everywhere was crazy overpriced for what they offered.
There was limited things to do, due to it being winter and bitterly cold. This was fine as we went with a purpose which was not sightseeing. But the ferry trip to russel was nice and we killed a few hours over there also

Great to take the hole in the rock boat trip.
Great to take the hole in the rock boat trip. Very convenient to catch the boat and hope over to Russell for a day trip. Lovely meal and walk at the wineyard in Russell. Lovely time to visit Pahia when it is sunny. Beautiful to spend 4 to 7 days chilling with the perfect sunset and sunrise. The indian restaurant along the beach at pahia is very authentic. Highly recommend pahia roadtrip.

Paihia is a very good place to stay if you want to explore...
Paihia is a very good place to stay if you want to explore Northland. If you are driving, you can go on your own to the tip of the North Island in about 3 hours. You can drive over to the Kauri Forest on the west side in about 1.5 hours. You can get tours out of Paihia for the Bay of Islands, the Ninety Mile Beach/Cape Reinga, Waitangi Treaty Grounds (you can walk there, about 3 km), rent kayaks or paddle boards, get fishing charters, take a ferry to Russell (or drive there). We spent 5 nights there and could have stayed a few more days and done even more.

Paihia is such a beautiful part of New Zealand!
Paihia is such a beautiful part of New Zealand! As the gateway to the Bay of Islands, there is so much to see and do here. There are some incredible restaurants to eat at and my husband highly recommends the Waitangi Golf Club just 5 minutes from Paihia. Definitely add the Bay of Islands to your list of places to visit in the North Island of NZ!

Motel was perfect and made our stay in the area
Loved the Treaty ground, so interesting
Got the car ferry to Russell and walked up to flagstaff hill
Beautiful beach on the other side of the hill
This beautiful wood cabin overlooking the Bay of Islands exceeded my expectations. It was beautifully clean and well-appointed (with everything I needed) and in a few minutes walking distance of the shops and restaurants of Paihia. The best thing of all was the lovely wooden deck on the cabin, where I sat drinking wine and drinking in the exceptional views. Really a wonderful stay- and wish I could have stayed longer.
Great all-round accommodation and value for money for a family. Great balcony with afternoon shade and spectacular view. Well located especially if you don't mind walking a bit, being an easy 10 min walk down the hill to the beach and 15 mins to Paihia wharf. A bit of energy required to get home up the hill but not a problem for those physically able and up for a bit of exercise.
We have stayed here a few times now and this is the place we will continue to come in the future. Room was big enough for 5 of us, kids love the pool and spa. This is the draw card for our family as not every hotel has a heated pool and spa. No residents staying here!! Awesome place to stay with your family, feels safe and comfortable. Thanks to Jo and her team.
It’s always refreshing going to a hotel/resort and meeting staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable even with the restrictions we face in a covid climate. The facilities are immaculate but the people who work here make this resort a place you’d definitely want to holiday in.
The view from all rooms and the Lania were spectacular! The rooms were clean and well cared for, and the location was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. There is a beautiful beach across the street to walk or swim! The historical areas are also nearby and an easy walk, too.
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, comfortable and the hotel well situated a short walk from the wharf in Paihia. Breakfast was nice, with a good selection of fried and continental options. All of the staff were friendly and very happy to help!
We had four generous, delicious breakfasts served promptly at 08:30 to our wee patio by Trevor. We utilized the complimentary laundry; much appreciated.
The location is very good as it is as the bend in the road as Seaview becomes Marsden Road entering Paihia.
The location, next to the birthplace of New Zealand, is amazing. The Bay of Islands is a fantastic place, and this hotel is perched in a beautiful location with a lovely outlook. Staff were lovely and helpful. The shuttle into town was very useful.
Great location in a hotel that has been extensively updated. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. We had booked for one night and ended up extending our stay an additional night. Highly recommend the Dolphin Motel
Property was exceptional with balcony overlooking beautiful plantings leading down to a river. Located in a very quiet area but easily accessible to Bay of Islands. Very clean and great attention to every detail. Highly recommended!!!
Good location not on the busy main strip of Paihia but an easy walk to the main shopping area. Nice pool to enjoy a dip on a hot day. All hotel facilities well maintained. Comfortable room. Plenty of parking on site.
I liked the location of where the hotel was, it wasn't to far from the others around the area. Enjoyed the pool, but thought it was a heated pool, but when we jumped in it was cold, but it was still very good
This hotel is amazing value for money. Location is perfect and the rooms are very comfortable albeit small. The pool was great for kids and the joining rooms made it super easy for our family.
Perfect location close to beach, restaurants, cafes, ferry etc. Lovely staff, lounge was spacious and comfortable. And separate bedroom with comfortable bed. Good value for money
